SU 01 Step-Up Preschool
Something for every child! Preschool students will experience an innovative framework that integrates “Fred Rogers-inspired” developmentally appropriate practices and play. The carefully planned learning environment will encourage social development while also promoting foundations in literacy, math, science, music, and art.
COST: $55 ROOM: Prep Lobby TIME: 2:15-4:45 PM
Angela Mulvanny is in her junior year at Saint Vincent College and majors in Early Education. She developed her love for working with children at a young age when she began babysitting. She worked as a babysitter from middle school through high school. She also volunteers for field trips at a local elementary school in her hometown, Denton, Texas. At Saint Vincent, Ms. Mulvanny is involved in the Early Childhood Education Club, the Bearcat Buddies Club, the STEM Education Club, and the Helping Minds Club. When she is not doing schoolwork or attending school activities, Ms. Mulvanny enjoys reading and watching movies with her friends.
Juliana Tambellini is a junior early childhood education major. She currently works for Little Ducklings Puddle Academy, a preschool in Penn Trafford. She also works for the YMCA as a summer camp counselor and part time kindergarten teacher. Along with working she also volunteers for Club Fred which is an after school program for underprivileged children in the Latrobe area. She enjoys playing sports and doing crafts in her free time and hopes to become a kindergarten teacher in Texas some day.
Mrs. Jamie Shero is the preschool supervising teacher for the Step-Up Preschool Program. She lives in Washington Township, Pennsylvania with her husband and three children. Mrs. Shero earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She has homeschooled her own three children for seventeen years. Additionally, she has been doing homeschool evaluations for over twenty years with the Freedom Evaluators. She has also taught six years at The Learning Center, which is a local homeschool co-op, teaching units of science and social studies. Currently, she has been tutoring preschool children using the Montessori Method. Mrs. Shero is excited to be working with the new student teachers and cannot wait to meet the new preschool students.
